Question 666: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he will give Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions in percentage figures for comparison with 1990 for each year for which figures are available since 1990; the action the Government intends to take to ensure compliance with the Kyoto Protocol by the period 2008 to 2012, and other commitments made at European level for the years 2030 and 2050. Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions in millions of tonnes of CO2 equivalent and in percentage increases on 1990 values for each year to 2003 are set out as follows. These figures are taken from the latest available EPA annual national inventory report detailing greenhouse gas emissions across all sectors of the economy.
