Question 107: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if the money raised on the sale of properties at the IFI plant in Arklow, County Wicklow, will be used to pay creditors who are still owed substantial amounts of money by the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is a matter for the liquidator of IFI to realise the assets of the company, including its properties in Arklow, and to apply the funds raised in the settlement of the debts owed by the company. In this regard, I understand that a contract has been signed for the sale of the company's main production site in Arklow and that it is hoped to close the sale in the near future. While the position of unsecured creditors can only be determined by the liquidator when all the assets of the company have been realised and all liabilities established, I understand that the liquidator hopes to be in a position to make at least an interim payment to unsecured creditors before the end of the year.
