Question 34: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the recent report by the inspector of prisons that the training unit at Mountjoy should not be moved to the new Thornton Hall site in north Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have noted the comments contained in the report of the Inspector of Prisons regarding the training unit at Mountjoy. The future delivery of services provided at the training unit is the subject of active consideration by the Irish Prison Service. A final decision on the matter will have regard to all the relevant factors involved, including location.
