Question 201: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children, in view of the DHSSPS report on the costs and benefits associated with the introduction of a dedicated HEMS that the priority is the need for further investment to improve the ground ambulance service, when persons in County Mayo (details supplied) will see the benefits of this advice; when this area will receive the essential ambulance base in view of the fact that it has been listed as priority and in view of the fact that improvements to the ground service have been advised. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
