Question 130: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, County Galway, has not been admitted to the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire in view of the fact that the person has been hospitalised in Ballinasloe since December 2004; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that this person has been recommended for referral to the National Rehabilitation Hospital by consultants in both the Portiuncula and Beaumont hospitals; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
