I propose to take Questions Nos. 1282 and 1283 together.

The Deputy may be aware that the National Council for Special Education, NCSE, which was established recently and has been operational since 1 January 2005, is responsible for processing applications for special educational needs — SEN — supports. My officials have been advised by the NCSE that an application for SEN supports has been made by the school authorities for the pupil in question. The local special educational needs organiser is examining the application and the school will be notified directly of the outcome of the application in the near future.
