Consideration is being given by my Department to further extending restorative justice projects. In this regard, Department of Finance sanction has been granted to extend the Tallaght restorative programme to north Dublin at an estimated annual running cost of €172,000. At the moment, work is under way to identify suitable premises for the project which is expected to commence in early 2006. In addition to the running cost, it is estimated that there will be a once off expenditure of €208,000 to secure and fit out the premises and an additional €15,000 to recruit train staff.
