I refer the Deputy to my response to Parliamentary Question No. 141 of 16 June 2005. My Department has not received information regarding the current status of the court proceedings in question. Neither has information been supplied concerning the person's ongoing ability to maintain herself without recourse to public funds. I am not in a position to consider granting the extension of permission to remain in the absence of such information.
It is open to the person in question to apply for the appropriate visa to enter the State should she be required to give evidence in the context of any future High Court proceedings.
