My aim is to have a completed energy policy paper ready for publication in early 2006. This paper will have both a medium and long-term perspective and will take account of the full range of issues and challenges facing us in the energy area, including our reliance on imported fossil fuels and the consequent security of supply issues that presents for Ireland's economy and environment.
