Intelligent Energy Europe is a funding programme aimed at addressing non-technical barriers to the uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Ireland has been actively participating in this programme. The Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources is the national contact point on this programme. On its behalf, Sustainable Energy Ireland, SEI, issues e-mail alerts to a database of known interested bodies upon publication of each call for proposals. A new call, the third in the series, is anticipated shortly and there will be a European information day, which is to be live on the Internet, on October 7 2005.
