Purchase of the site was completed on 22 August 2005. Completion of the purchase had been subject to the grant of planning permission to the development of a district veterinary office building on the site. The grant of permission to the development was confirmed by Leitrim County Council on 12 May 2005. A changed brief of requirements has been received from the Department of Agriculture and Food, and this is currently being examined by the Commissioners.
