Question 139: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if she will set up the first responder scheme in Counties Sligo and Leitrim similar to the scheme operated by the former regional health authority; when it will commence; if it is her view that the provision of defibrillators with training from the local health authority in major population centres has a proven track record for saving life; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 105 and 139 together.
The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department is requesting the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
