Question 841: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has yet received proposals from Kildare County Council with a view to initiating a drainage programme in the areas of Prosperous, Timahoe, Drehid, Coill Dubh, Robertstown, Allenwood and Rathangan, County Kildare, having particular regard to the need as identified by the local action groups; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Proposals have not been received by my Department from Kildare County Council on this issue which I understand involves arterial drainage of the River Slate. Under the Arterial Drainage Acts, such works are the responsibility of the Office of Public Works rather than my Department.
