Question 79: To ask the Minister for Finance if the OPW is making arrangements for the temporary transfer of Ballymun Garda Station and the Ballymun office of the Department of Social and Family Affairs to Stormanstown House; if so, when this temporary location will be ready for occupation; the length of time this location will be in use; if these offices will have exclusive use of the site; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Discussions between the Commissioners of Public Works and Ballymun Regeneration Limited regarding the temporary relocation of the Garda station and the social and family affairs office in Ballymun are at a preliminary stage. A report regarding the technical assessment of the premises at Stormanstown House and related costs has been commissioned by the Office of Public Works. The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, the Garda authorities and the Department of Social and Family Affairs are considering the suitability of the premises and their responses are awaited.
