Question 87: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he has appointed a consultant to review the quantified risk assessment of the Corrib gas onshore pipeline; if further analysis of the risk of bog movement affecting the pipeline will be carried out; when he will receive a report from any newly appointed consultant; and when he will make a decision with regard to the pipeline. I would like to inform the Deputy that a consultant has been appointed to review the quantified risk assessment, QRA, of the Corrib gas onshore pipeline. The consultant's report is expected to be received shortly.

My officials are at present completing their assessment of the developers' application to install and commission the onshore pipeline. The decision in relation to this application will not be finalised until the consultant's report in relation to the QRA has been received and assessed. I should also add that the consultant's report will be put into the public domain in north Mayo and on the Department's website as soon as possible after receipt.
