Question 256: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children when she proposes to make an announcement in respect of capital funding for a new hospital in Dingle, County Kerry; the reason there has been no announcement of the 2005 capital programme to date; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Deputy's question relates to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. This includes responsibility for considering new capital proposals or progressing those in the health capital programme.

The detailed capital funding programme for 2005 is currently being finalised in the context of the Capital Investment Framework 2005-2009. This process is not yet fully concluded as it must take account of non-capital funding implications arising in future years. However, I expect to be in a position to make an announcement in this regard very shortly.
