Question 128: To ask the Taoiseach if he will seek advice on the Government taking a case against the UK Government to the European Court of Human rights in the event of its refusal to establish an inquiry and to report further on developments in respect of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings. The Government has established a commission of investigation to look at certain aspects of the Dublin and Monaghan bombings in 1974 and we continue to press the British Government for action in providing further information that would shed light on the atrocities. These actions are in keeping with the recommendations of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Womens' Rights and I hope they will yield further insights. The committee identified a number of possible further actions that could be taken and, if necessary, I will seek legal advice at the appropriate time.
