Question 407: To ask the Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the measures he proposes to put in place to deal with the difficulties arising for couples who have been allocated a serviced site at a reduced price by their local authority in cases in which the local authority has the first charge on the property should it be sold within ten years; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are further difficulties arising with this first charge (details supplied). It has recently been represented to my Department that the issue of first charge on the property can in some circumstances create problems for the operation of the sale of sites scheme. The matter is currently being examined in my Department with a view to resolving any possible difficulty involved.
