Local Authority Funding

Question 394: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he has allocated funding to the local authorities for local improvement schemes for the 2005 programme; if so, the funding each local authority applied for and received; the funding applied for and received in 2004; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Information on the operation of the local improvement scheme in each county council area is sought from councils each year. This includes details of the number of applications on hand and the estimated cost of those applications at the end of each year. Table 1 sets out details of the number of applications on hands and the estimated cost of those applications at the end of 2003 and the initial allocation made to each county council in 2004.
Table 2 sets out details of the number of applications on hand and the estimated cost of those applications at the end of 2004. I intend to announce the 2005 allocations shortly.
