Question 164: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the cost of security, maintenance and insurance of the vacant property at Myshall, County Carlow since the property was transferred in August 2002; if a decision has been reached regarding the future use of this property; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The responsibility for the provision of security at Myshall rested with my Department from September 2002 to December 2002. During that period the total cost of the security to my Department was €18,606.36.

Since January 2003, it has been the responsibility of the Health Service Executive south eastern area — formally the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief officer of the Health Service Executive south eastern area to reply directly to the Deputy. With regard to the future use of the property, my Department is awaiting a definitive response from the Health Service Executive south eastern area on the matter.
