Question 243: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position in relation to applications for work permits for persons, which were submitted by a company (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if same will be dealt with as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The work permit section of my Department has indicated that the permits in question have been refused. The employer was informed in writing of the decision and of his right to appeal the decision.
An appeal has been received and is currently under consideration. It is anticipated that a decision from the work permits section will be posted to the employer within seven days.
