Schools Refurbishment

Question 834: To ask the Minister for Education and Science her proposals for the replacement or refurbishment of a school (details supplied); if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the school authorities are now waiting for over five years for the promised replacement or refurbished school; the estimated cost of the project as approved by her Department; the timescale for the work to be done; and when the work will be completed and available for occupation by staff and pupils. As part of a review of all projects for the 2005 capital programme, the application for capital funding from the school authority was assessed against the published prioritisation criteria for large scale building projects which were revised last year following consultation with the education partners. Under this review all projects were assigned a band rating and the progress of individual projects is being considered in the context of the school building programme.
