Question 211: To ask the Minister for Defence if paragraph 4 of the training instruction 17/87, which requires periodic seminars to be conducted at sub-unit level, were carried out for those involved in a training exercise at the Glen of Imaal on 27 November 2001 prior to that date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 211 and 212 together.

The items referred to in the Deputy's questions are matters for consideration by the military court of inquiry to which I have referred in previous replies to the House on this incident. The court of inquiry will be held following completion of the civil legal action which has been initiated.
