Question 150: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the reason funding has been withdrawn from a group (details supplied) in respect of the Dunne Inquiry; if she is satisfied that the chairman's report will be ready by 31 March 2005 as promised; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Funding has not been withdrawn from the Parents for Justice group. A sum of €150,000 was provided to fund the group from January 2005 to 30 June 2005. The situation in relation to subsequent funding after that date will be assessed in the coming months.
I have conveyed the Government decision of September 2004, that the inquiry shall cease to exist after 31 March 2005 to the chairman of the post mortem inquiry and I expect to receive the chairman's report on or before that date.
