Question 376: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the reason for the difference in the reply to Question No. 534 of 30 November 2004 indicating that the monthly storage cost of electronic voting equipment amounts to €55,000, and the presentation on the subject to the Committee of Public Accounts. Information supplied to my Department by returning officers, which was made available to the Committee of Public Accounts at its meeting on 3 February 2005, indicates that the total annual storage costs for the electronic voting system is €658,229, which is equivalent to less than €55,000 per month.
