Question 176: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the manner in which storage space for the electronic voting technology was advertised; if normal tendering and procurement procedures were observed in each and every case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The procurement of appropriate secure storage accommodation for electronic voting machines and ancillary equipment is the responsibility of returning officers, who are statutorily charged with conducting elections and referenda. My Department has written to returning officers requesting information in relation to, inter alia, the procurement of such accommodation.
