Question 266: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if he attended meetings with the Orange Order concerning the historical significance of the Battle of Aughrim site in County Galway which is the proposed location of the M6; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have not attended such meetings regarding the Aughrim battle site. The development of motorway schemes is a matter for the NRA and the local authority concerned and I understand an application for approval of the M6 scheme is currently before An Bord Pleanála.
