Question 260: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government his views on the report by PharmaChemical Ireland which claims that in the pharmaceutical and chemical sector carbon dioxide emissions were reduced by 12%, overall polluting potential of discharged waste waters decreased by 42% and hazardous waste production was reduced by13%; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I recently received a copy of the PharmaChemical Ireland report, responsible care Ireland annual report, 2004, and I welcome and encourage the efforts of the industrial sector concerned towards improving environmental performance. I am currently considering the detail of the report.
