Question 111: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources his views on the recent European Commission report on the internal market for gas and electricity here and on the December 2004 EUROSTAT figures on electricity prices; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the report clearly refers to the high costs of using the electricity network; the action he intends to take in view of this report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am aware of the report and statistics referred to by the Deputy.
I have no function in electricity network costs. This is a matter which falls within the statutory responsibility of the Commission for Energy Regulation.
