Since my appointment as Minister for Education and Science, I have made the following public appointments to my Department: Averil Power, special adviser and Carl Gibney, personal assistant. Arrangements are being finalised in regard to the appointment of a personal secretary and I will be in touch with the Deputy as soon as this process is concluded. No public appointments were made in my Department between August and September 2004.
