Question 319: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a major hospital in Dublin (details supplied) states that it can only provide day service physiotherapy for patients who are over 65 years of age and had no physiotherapy stroke service for patients under 65 years of age; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Health Act 2004 provided for the Health Service Executive, which was established on 1 January 2005. Under the Act, the executive is required to manage and deliver, or arrange to be delivered on its behalf, health and personal social services. Services at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital, incorporating the National Children's Hospital, Tallaght, are provided under an arrangement with the executive. My Department has, therefore, requested the chief officer of the executive's eastern regional area to investigate the position with regard to this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
