Question 173: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children when a conclusive diagnosis can be made in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; if treatment or improved speech or other learning assistance or therapy can be provided at an early date with a view to creating the best possible chance for this person's future development; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of services, including diagnostic and therapy services, for persons with an intellectual disability and those with autism in the Kildare area is a matter, in the first instance, for the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

My Department has asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
