Question 379: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if he will ensure that the necessary funding is granted to Gurteen Community Alert, County Sligo as this local voluntary community group are working with and providing invaluable supports for older persons in the region; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Question Nos. 377, 378 and 379 together.

My Department has received applications for funding under the scheme of community support for older people 2004 from the three groups in question. Applications received under the scheme are currently being processed and grants will issue to eligible community groups at the earliest possible date.
