The medication administered to the person concerned at the time referred to was human gamma globulin. This was administered on 10 October 1990, 18 January 1991 and 1 April 1991. There is no record in his service medical records of his being administered any other medication at this time. Gamma globulin was administered routinely to all troops serving in south Lebanon prior to the availability of a vaccine to protect against the development of clinical hepatitis A, in an area of high prevalence of the disease. No request has been made by the medical attendant of the person concerned for access to his service medical records. A copy would be made available on request, subject to the patient's consent.
