Question 263: To ask the Minister for Transport the action he proposes to take regarding the decentralisation programme with regard to the proposed transfer of staff from the National Roads Authority to Ballinasloe, in view of the fact that only six out of a total complement of 89 indicated they wished to be transferred to Ballinasloe. The decentralisation programme is operating on an entirely voluntary basis. Those who do not wish to transfer to a decentralised location will be assigned to alternative public service posts in Dublin. The procedures that will apply in the case of those who do not wish to transfer will be the subject of discussions with the public service unions.
