Question 231: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the efforts the Garda Síochána has made to meet with and negotiate with those planning to protest or demonstrate over the May Day bank holiday weekend 2004 in order to reduce the negative impact such protest may have. [12470/04]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda Síochána engaged in ongoing liaison with various groups planning protests and-or demonstrations over the May Day bank holiday weekend.
