Question 409: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fine work of the Mother McAuley centre on Curlew Road in Drimnagh, Dublin 12, which caters for the needs of older persons as well as pre-school children; the grants that are available to assist the centre in building their extension in order to help deliver their voluntary services; the Government grants the centre has received in the past five years; and if he will raise this matter with the South Western Area Health Board. The provision of health services in this area is, in the first instance, the responsibility of the South Western Area Health Board acting under the aegis of the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

I am pleased to advise the Deputy that this matter has been brought to my attention by other public representatives and as a result of this my Department is in touch with the authority about a grant application submitted by the Mother McAuley centre. This application will be examined in the context of overall resources available.
