Question 266: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the reason none of the public meetings in the Your Education System consultation process are taking place in Donegal; and if he will reconsider this decision and arrange for a meeting to be held there bearing in mind the large geographic size of the county will make it difficult for people to travel to other meetings. A total of 17 public meetings have been scheduled as part of this process. These include a public meeting in Sligo on 12 February 2004 and a public meeting in Letterkenny on 19 February 2004.
I have not ruled out the possibility of holding additional meetings, if it becomes clear during the next few weeks that there is a demand for these. Members of the public can also access the process through the website www.youreducation.ie or by writing to The Secretariat, Your Education System, Educational Research Centre, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
