I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport to make a statement on the funding of League of Ireland and grassroots football in light of the FAI's new strategy.
Senator Eileen Lynch - The need for the Minister for Social Protection to review the rules regarding the widow's and equivalent pensions to allow those in receipt of same access to other social welfare payments, such as illness benefit or invalidity pension.
Senator Chris Andrews - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Defence to make a statement on the acquisition of Airbus H145M helicopters.
Senator Fiona O'Loughlin - The need for the Minister for Education and Youth to make a statement on access to school bus transport for students in Kildare and Newbridge attending Curragh Community College, the Curragh, County Kildare.
Senator Cathal Byrne - The need for the Minister for Education and Youth to make a statement on the timeline for the review of the reasonable accommodations at the certificate examinations scheme, in particular with a view to providing additional time for dyslexic students sitting State examinations.
Senator Gareth Scahill - The need for the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment to make a statement on the Government's commitment to the target in the biomethane strategy and to confirm the timeline for the introduction of the renewable heat obligation.
Senator Mike Kennelly - The need for the Minister for Health to immediately reinstate the SouthDoc out-of-hours services in Listowel, County Kerry.
Senator Sarah O'Reilly - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for older people to make a statement on adult safeguarding legislation in light of the recent RTÉ documentary which highlighted the abuse of vulnerable elderly people in nursing homes.
The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Garret Ahearn, Eileen Lynch, Chris Andrews and Fiona O'Loughlin and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
