The Cathaoirleach has received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator Mary Fitzpatrick - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on her engagement with the State Examinations Commission regarding the proposal from Dyslexia Ireland that additional exam time be given to students with dyslexia in the junior and leaving certificate examinations.
Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on the pilot school bus schemes to be introduced on foot of the recommendations of the school transport 2030 review.
Senator Mícheál Carrigy - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on plans to increase the availability of autism spectrum disorder class places in post-primary schools in County Longford.
Senator Alice-Mary Higgins - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the number of aircraft inspections conducted since May 2024 under the Air Navigation (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Orders 1973 and 1989; and the number of exemptions or waivers requested or granted under Article 5 of those orders since May 2024.
The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and will be taken now. The Minister is very welcome to the Chamber.
