I have received notification from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Health to include medical personnel affected by long Covid-19 in the special leave with pay scheme and to ensure that all cases are medically assessed to ascertain eligibility.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to outline Government policy on the need for the construction of data centres and his view on current capacity issues.

Senator Pauline O'Reilly - The need for the Taoiseach to make a statement on the timeline for the establishment of a citizens' assembly on the future of education.

Senator Joe O'Reilly - The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to amend the eligibility requirements for the local improvement scheme, in particular the need to remove the requirement to have a house on at least one hectare of land when there is only one other landowner with a herd number.

Senator Mary Seery Kearney - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to introduce surrogacy leave given the legislation is now in place as a framework for surrogacy.

Senator Mary Fitzpatrick - The need for the Minister for Justice to provide an update on the regulation of owner management companies, including ensuring that funds made available by the Government to remediate apartment defects are properly disbursed and that the Multi-Units Development Act 2011 is reviewed and updated.

Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on the development of a national swimming strategy.

Senator Aisling Dolan - The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on the new school building for Scoil an Chroí Naofa, Ballinasloe, County Galway.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on the planned repurposing of River House, Charlotte Quay, Limerick.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Robbie Gallagher, Malcolm Byrne, Pauline O'Reilly and Joe O'Reilly and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Mary Fitzpatrick on the grounds that it is a repeat of a commencement matter raised on 25 June 2024. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
