I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on plans to establish enduring commitments to energy security that ensure any proposed State-backed gas reserve is temporary, does not increase gas demand and aligns with climate obligations.
Senator Victor Boyhan - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on Government support for Irish horse racing.
Senator Barry Ward - The need for the Minister for Justice to include a test on Irish history or culture in the naturalisation process and to ensure citizenship ceremonies are held locally.
Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on physician-led helicopter emergency medical services in Ireland.
Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for An Taoiseach to provide an update on engagement with the Irish Thalidomide Association in relation to the need for a State apology and appropriate supports and compensation for survivors.
Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on the use of Hearns Hotel, Clonmel, County Tipperary, as a facility for international protection applicants.
Senator Seán Kyne - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on agreement on a single point of inspection for oyster fishermen to avoid duplication between the Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority and Inland Fisheries Ireland.
The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Lynn Boylan, Victor Boyhan, Barry Ward and Emer Currie and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
