I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the current status of the delivery and handover of primary care centres in County Monaghan.
Senator Marie Sherlock - The need for the Minister of State with special responsibility for public health, well-being and the national drugs strategy to provide an update on her Department’s plans for the operation of the north inner city drugs and alcohol task force.
Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on plans to ensure appropriate transport is put in place for young adults who drive from Beara to Bantry to attend day services at the National Learning Network, Rehab Care and CoAction.
Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the planned additional classrooms for Scoil Íosagáin, Coolgreany, Gorey, County Wexford.
Senator Eugene Murphy - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on progress in enhancing road safety measures in Ballinlough, County Roscommon.
Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to amend the regulations governing domestic septic tanks to allow those who purchased homes with an unregistered septic tank post 1 February 2013 to avail of a grant for remediation works.
Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on whether the State will consider purchasing Knocklofty House, Clonmel, County Tipperary.
Senator Ned O'Sullivan - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on the funding of consultancy work in the arts area to individuals who were previously engaged as officers or employees of any public body under her remit and the measures in place to ensure such appointments are made in accordance with best practice and good governance.
Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on the need to address the barriers affecting the supply of childcare in local communities.
Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to extend the domestic wastewater treatment systems grant scheme to all domestic homeowners with septic tanks to permit proactive upgrade or inspections.
Senator Fiona O'Loughlin - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the need to update road safety legislation in respect of sulky road racing.
Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, the Cathaoirleach has selected Senators Gallagher, Sherlock and Lombard and they will be taken now. I regret that the Cathaoirleach had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator O'Sullivan on the grounds that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. Senator Murphy has withdrawn his Commencement matter, which was originally selected. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
