I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on the need for additional childcare places in Dublin West.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on the application for an extension by Catherine McCauley special school, Limerick.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on the use of artificial intelligence tools for education and training purposes.

Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to introduce grants for businesses to install solar or photovoltaic, PV, panels.

Senator John Cummins - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to increase the grant amounts for each of the three categories of disabled persons grant, DPG, and to provide additional funding to local authorities to address current DPG waiting lists.

Senator Michael McDowell - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the Government’s planned reforms in response to the Supreme Court decision of 31 March 2023, which held that the Oireachtas must perform its constitutional obligation to expand the franchise for elections to the Seanad Éireann university panels.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and they will be taken now.
