The tourism board for County Kildare and Solas Bhríde spirituality centre have jointly launched a global initiative, Pause for Peace movement, today. Our colleague, Senator O'Loughlin, has asked us to join with residents of County Kildare and others around the world in standing for a minute's silence at 12 noon to commemorate St. Brigid's Day. St. Brigid was renowned as a peacemaker and showed extraordinary leadership in the early Irish church and in Irish society. By standing for peace today we are showing solidarity with those whose lives have been ravaged by war and we support the global cause of worldwide peace. As it is now 12 noon, I ask Members to stand for Pause for Peace.

Members rose.
