I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on the current number of dog wardens and the number of prosecutions under the Control of Dogs Act 1986.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the expansion of the role of peace commissioners.

Senator Seán Kyne - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to provide an update on the level of interest and investment in the Industrial Development Authority, IDA, land banks in County Galway.

Senator Ollie Crowe - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the affordable housing schemes being progressed by Galway City Council and Galway County Council.

Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the roll-out of the proposed pilot wastewater scheme for villages and towns.

Senator Róisín Garvey - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the recruitment and retention of retained fire service staff.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Boylan, Gallagher, Kyne, Crowe and Conway and they will be taken now. Senator Garvey has withdrawn her commencement matter, which I had originally selected.
