I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Micheál Carrigy - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on funding for the N4 Mullingar to Rooskey road project to bring it to full planning permission stage.

Senator Ollie Crowe - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the delays in the opening of two new orthopaedic operating theatres at Merlin Park Hospital, Galway.

Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the changes to the Burren programme for farmers which may result in a potential loss of income and decrease in incentives for conservation measures.

Senator Paul Gavan - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the recommendations of the Labour Court regarding redundancy terms for employees of Rehab Enterprises.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to make a statement on Ireland's policy on engagement with China.Senator Erin McGreehan - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine to provide an update on the actions taken by his Department since the publication of the wool feasibility study and an update on the establishment of the Irish Wool Council.

Senator Garret Ahearn - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the provision of funding for Cólaiste Dún Iascaigh, Cahir, County Tipperary, for the construction of extra accommodation.

Senator Fiona O'Loughlin - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the use of the Brexit adjustment reserve fund to support the horse breeding sector.

Senator Robbie Gallagher - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to initiate a review of the current terms and conditions of the retained fire service to ensure staffing levels are maintained.

Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on the capacity issues at local authority dog pounds and the contingencies in place to deal with a lack of shelter space.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Micheál Carrigy, Ollie Crowe, Martin Conway and Paul Gavan and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Boylan on the grounds that it is a repeat of a matter raised on 26 October 2022. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
