I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Sharon Keogan - The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the extension of eligibility to the community employment scheme to those aged 18 to 21 years.

Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on Ireland’s potential membership of the European Council for Nuclear Research, CERN.

Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on progress on the drafting of the proposed human tissue Bill.

Senator Barry Ward - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the guidelines in place in local authority areas in determining accessible parking locations and positions for wheelchair users.

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the proposed new means test for the fuel allowance for the over-70s.

Senator Micheál Carrigy - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the provision of two palliative care beds at St. Joseph's Care Centre, Longford.

Senator Emer Currie - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for disabilities to make a statement on the waiting lists for children's disability services in community healthcare organisation, CHO, area 9.

Senator Martin Conway - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on his plans to deliver a package of appropriate healthcare supports and compensation package to Thalidomide survivors.

Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to review bans in place by property management companies and landlords on drying clothes outdoors.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion I have selected Senators Sharon Keogan, Malcolm Byrne, Tim Lombard and Barry Ward and they will be taken now.

I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Boylan on the grounds that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
