Dia dhaoibh, a chairde. I welcome everyone back.

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters on the Commencement:

Senator Lynn Boylan:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to outline his plans to meet the European Council’s regulation on reducing gas demand by 15% this winter.

Senator John Cummins:

The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on the expansion of the South East Technological University campus in Waterford city.

Senator Mary Seery Kearney:

The need for the Minister of State at the Department of Health with responsibility for public health, well-being and the national drugs strategy to make a statement on the fact that there has been no increase in the core budget for community drug projects since 2013.

Senator Paul Gavan:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the proposed Health (Termination of Pregnancy Services (Safe Access Zones)) Bill.

Senator Seán Kyne:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the provision of orthodontic treatment in Oranmore, County Galway.

Senators Mark Wall, Aisling Dolan, Tim Lombard, Robbie Gallagher and John McGahon:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the school transport scheme.

Senator Micheál Carrigy:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the future of the Lough Ree power station in Lanesboro, County Longford.

Senators Sharon Keogan and Aidan Davitt:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for planning and local government to make a statement on the allocation of funding for the provision of a dedicated EU affairs officer and a strategic policy committee in each local authority area.

Senator Maria Byrne:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on supports available to encourage businesses to increase energy efficiency.

Senator Emer Currie:

The need for the Minister for Justice to increase Garda resources in Ashtown and Pelletstown, Dublin 15.

Senator Eugene Murphy:

The need for the Minister for Transport to allocate funding under the active travel scheme for the construction of a footpath over the River Shannon in Rooskey on the Leitrim-Roscommon border.

Senator Garret Ahearn:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the provision of funding for fertility treatment in Ireland.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Lynn Boylan, John Cummins, Mary Seery Kearney, Seán Kyne, Mark Wall, Aisling Dolan, Tim Lombard, Robbie Gallagher, John McGahon and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
