I have received notice from Senator Maria Byrne that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on his Department’s progress in reducing the climate footprint and making Irish agriculture climate resilient.

I have also received notice from Senator Róisín Garvey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to outline what measures he intends to take to improve transparency, public participation and accountability in local authorities.

I have also received notice from Senator Paul Gavan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the review of orthodontic services.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the national children’s hospital, including costs to date and the planned opening date.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on the building project for Kilsheelan National School, Clonmel, County Tipperary.

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to provide an update on the Phoenix Park parking strategy recommended in the Phoenix Park: Transport and Mobility Options study.

I have also received notice from Senator Lynn Boylan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for heritage and electoral reform to make a statement on plans for bogs in the mid-Shannon area and how this correlates with the national peatland strategy.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, the Cathaoirleach has selected Senators Maria Byrne, Garvey, Gavan and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now. The Cathaoirleach regrets that he had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Davitt on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in this area. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
